Meet Joyelle

A little about Joyelle M. Saunders…

1468When asked about me, many have called me minister, elder, evangelist, pastor, prophetess… But I am first a lover of Jesus Christ!  I grew up the big sister to my two younger brothers on the Caribbean island of St. Thomas, USVI.  The daughter of Christian parents, I, as they say, grew up in church.  I found my love for worship at an early age, singing and directing many choirs and praise teams along the way.  In 2004, I accepted God’s call to ministry as a minister, was ordained as an elder/teacher in 2007, and began pastoring with my husband in 2008.  I use my personal experiences, work experience with families in crisis, and Biblical truths in counseling and consulting with individuals and couples.

However, my road to ministry was tough.  I even suffered from depression, suicidal thoughts and stopped going to church.  These struggles and others planted the seeds of the ministry of His Freedom in my heart.  Then, in 2005, I was in a serious car accident, and my perspective on my relationship with God was forever changed.  While traveling home from work, I was hit head on by an SUV going 60 mph.  A broken neck, fractured skull, lacerated liver, and severely broken legs were among my more serious injuries.  Despite having my life, I was bound and broken physically, emotionally, and spiritually.  But during the next seven years of rebuilding my life, God started showing me that His love for me surpassed anything I could ever imagine.  Through my healing and deliverance, He started revealing the many areas that I and many other believers were living lives of bondage, and in 2012 Freedom by the Word was born.

So, if you ask about me, I would say that I am a daughter, sister, wife to my best friend Alvin, mother to two amazing sons, and a prophetic teacher who has experienced the blood-bought Freedom of Christ.  I am determined to be a Totally Free Me and committed to helping believers identify and break the yokes of various types of bondage in their lives so they too can live the Totally Free life God has for them.
